I got an EPC yesterday. This morning the Engine light came on. So I hooked up the Vag-com(first time I have ever used one)

fault codes

1 dtc found
17579- Throttle Acutation POT#2(G188): implausible Signal
35-10 ---intermittent

I checked the archives, Obvoiusly its Throttle Acuation potentimeters. I am not sure if there are 2 or if its a redundant single unit.

But the archives made no mention of the check engine light? Could there be other problems. I am 20 miles from the closest Dealer and 60 miles from the one I frequent(near work). What should I do. Can I drive it 60 miles and have them look at it?

How much is a T A potentimeter(s), I am out of warrantee.

Be aware that if the ECU decides it doesn't like the other pot you'll go to limp mode - 1000rpm max - which will maybe get you off the road :(

What year car / what ECU pn / what build date?

My old '00 threw a sh!tload of codes about the Throttle Actuator, Throttle Position Controller, and finally Internal Control Module Driver Error.... Audi admitted to some number of defective ECUs causing those errors - ECU replaced (eventually) and (those) problems went away.

If you happen to fall into the "right" range, AoA may help out if they determine ECU is defective.

Good luck!

Curious why unplug vs clear DTCs or just re-run TBA...?
