I brought my car in for the 5k oil change yesterday and had a few minor complaints. One of which being that the radio volume knob on my 99.5 Bose system feels very sticky and is not at all smooth. I get a call back saying they had a radio in stock so they have replaced my radio. At this point, I'm thinking "wow, this is great service." Having read the recent posts about the new Ver 3 radio in the 99.5's, it occurs to me later in the day that they may have switched my ver 3 radio with an older ver 2 radio. Sure enough, I pick up the car last night and find a brand new Ver 2 radio in my 99.5. At this point the service dept was closed so all I could do was suck it up and go home.

Am I entitled to a Ver 3 radio and should I ask the dealer to order me one?? So far I notice little difference in sound quality but I haven't really listened closely yet. I want a Ver 3 radio with a smooth volume knob!

If I hold the 3 button down I get:
6o 14. 1D
if I press right arrow button I then get in sequence:
7116. 1B
7A15. 1S
7B20. 1M
6902. 1R

I don't know if the sound quality is attributed to the version difference only, or if there are other differences (e.g. speakers).
