<center><img src="http://www.lltek.com/lltek/lem_a3.gif"></center><p>these 5 spokers are so split one can almost consider them a 10spoke wheel.

zender le mans 17x8.5($309ea) and 18x8.5($389ea) from lltek. kinda pricey but i think they're beautiful. :) i wonder if i could get tirerack to special order these. theyre my numero uno wheel choice so far.

I really think that this looks a lot like the: Hock R, BBS RC, etc, etc. So much of the stuff is the same. I realize there are cast vs. forged wheels, and weight considerations, but design wise, it's as if designers just copy from each other and tweak a spoke curve or something.

Just my $.02

They don't do anything for me.

If I could afford them, I'd get the TecnoMagnesio. They look the best of any I've seen.<ul><li><a href="http://www.pes-tuning.com/products/tecno_wheels.html">TecnoMagnesio wheels</a></li></ul>

You wanted feed back so here it is:

Without calling the wheel ugly I'll just say it's a poor design approach. ;O) That's just my opinion but a professional opinion being an artist with an illustration and design background (though not automotive). The lines on those wheels clash terribly with the A4's subtle German styling. The curves are pinched and too sharp. The varying width and bulging of the spokes is distracting. The wheel is over designed; they will attract too much attention to themselves and away from the very clean esthetics of the A4. (Of course, if you're paying almost $400 a wheel maybe that's what you want!) ;OP
It's relatively easy to choose a wheel you like but considerable more difficult to choose a wheel you like that looks good ON your car. (Some would disagree and that's cool; I just cringe whenever I see garish wheel/car combos. Must…stop…the insanity!) Think of the car first, the design philosophy behind it, and pick a wheel that emulates those strongest design aspects of that particular vehicle: Is it: 'boy racer', 'stealth', 'competition', 'don't $#@!! with me'Is the styling angular, rounded, retro etc. Uh…or just wing it but ALWAYS think of the CAR first. Of course, to confuse things there are always exceptions to any rule.
-Ugh, I could type all day on this sub.

I'm thinking of either Borbet Type T or OZ Volcanos. Any "artistic" comments on those? Both are of the deep-dish variety which I think looks good on the A4....

The A4 design is so good that the chances of detracting from the design by adding on are higher than on other vehicles. Those who have given it careful thought and have a good sense of design have been successful.

I could go on but this thread is page 2 by now and who goes there?

Crap!!!
The stupid thing posts when you hit return after filling in 'Subject'. Whoops!

Nobody's reading this anyway. Hjohn is right, I don't think anybody checks messages that aren't on page one! :OP

My opinion on Borbets: They're a clean design (good start) but a little too old school for me (read slightly dated design). They're very late '80s early '90s looking. This could create an undesired contrast between car and wheel. I've never seen the Volcanos so I couldn't give you any feed back. It's difficult critiquing other people's choices, though, when taste and personal opinion are a factor. I try and follow a comprehensive formula when approaching car/wheel combos but individual taste is an inconsistent variable that just throws a wrench in the works.

happy wheel hunting!
