i currently have a scorpion stainless steel exhaust on my 98 a4 1.8t. does removing this resonator improve performance? what are the pros and cons in doing this. Does it eliminate alot of your back pressure? if so does it remove to much back pressure. I know that you do want some back pressure. And would you recomend doing this. thanks
by removing the resonator, the car will be much louder. in terms of performance, i'm not sure if it does much. probably improves because you have freer flow but it's not a difference you will feel. well, the main thing you have to think about is the noise level....whether you can stand a louder car. that's really the only issue here in my opinion.
by the way, i don't have a resonator on my a4.

does it make it sound like a weed eater?
no.....sounds good. what you can do is first take off the resonator and see how your exhaust sounds. if it's too loud, you can always put a smaller resonator on.

I removed the stock resonator on mine, and it helped the turbo spool-up faster.. I'm unsure as to HP, since I drove with just the Remus only for a few miles, then had the muffler shop pull the resonator also...
Your scorpion probably has a sport resonator already, so it's probably just a matter of volume..
