just brought it home and its has spots or what looks like dried water spots on the sides above the door handles all over and the rear bumper, is it left over sticky stuff from the white protective covering? What should i do to remove it, waxing didnt work, and made it more apparent, and zymol hd cleanse didnt take it off easily, so i stopped and came here. HELP

my friend's brother's new volvo xv70 w/ clearcoat has these 'water spots' youre talking about. his dealer said it wasn't uncommon with clearcoated paint and that they'll fade after a little while . (??)
as for the rough spots ... does it feel a tad gritty? i had 2 LARGE patches on both front doors below the rear-view mirrors. a soft sponge during your next car wash should take care of those.

it wouldn't hurt to call up your dealer just to be sure. i became almost frantic when i found those rough spots on my 2day old car. :)
