On my drive to work this morning, my V1 started periodically going off in the K band. Since it was only showing a couple bars in the strength meter, I didn't worry much, but slowed down to the speed limit of 35mph on a very wide stretch of road where I usually do at least 45-50mph...
As I continued down the road, V1 signal kept getting stronger and stronger, and I finally saw a motorcycle cop aiming his radar gun at the oncoming traffic, almost an entire mile away from where I initially got the hit. Wow, that's some range!
Since the road is somewhat curved between those two points with houses in the way, I wonder how far away I could have caught him if the road were straight...
That makes it four times in the last year that my V1 has saved my butt.. Incidentally, all the hits I've made were of San Jose PD using K-band hand-helds on motorcycles...
