I am considering an extended warranty as I plan to keep my A4 for quite some time, does anyone have a great deal to be had with a certain company? thanks for any info.

as the factory warranty on my BMW was running out. You get lulled into a false security while the warranty is running, because you're not seeing just how friggin' much these cars can be to repair. The thought of a major system repair (trans, climate control, etc.) was too frightening, so I thumbed through the classifieds in Autoweek and got a few quotes. I've only used the insurance once, had my indy garage deal with them and they told me they were hard to reach and reluctant to pay, but finally came through with most of the $$$.

Here's an alternative thought I had recently: instead of sinking $$$ in an insurance policy you may or may never get use out of, perhaps if you put the money in a no-load mutual fund and saved it just for catastrophic car repairs you could come out ahead. Let that cashola earn you some interest for a few years!
