I have checked engine compartment and looked for drips, none, oil level seems fine too. I have approx. 600 miles on car, I know not a lot for a car that is about 5 weeks old now. Could the smell be that crap they spray on engine compartment (cosmoline or something)or something else. No smell what so ever in side car. Just wondering. Otherwise car seems to run fine, I luv it. Wife has the 02 allroad, sweet ride also.

Superfast Silver is a little 'tongue-in-cheek'...suggesting it is somewhat faster because it is silver...and after a Zaino treatment, it really looks more like mercury...which of course, is superfast.

My "performance" mods include:
--foam trunk mat
--Audi 4-ring valve stem covers
--Audi 4-ring tire pressure gauge
--Garmin GPS III+
--Valentine One
--Hydraulic jack in trunk
--605 relay removed

I have done nothing to make it truly faster. A few people have put in a tip chip which makes the shifts a little crisper. A few have done suspension upgrades and exhaust upgrades. Additionally, a variety of brake upgrades have been done also, including "Stoptech" front brakes.

I don't plan on doing anything to my 4.2. I will look into potential brake upgrades for the S6 Avant...including upgrading to the S8 standard Brembo set-up...but that will be a while.

A lot of these other guys know more what you can do to make your 4.2...truly "Superfast". It's no M5, but it is pretty damn fast for a 4000 pound luxurious sport beast :)

So does the 4.2 come with a 300 HP motor or 310. When I registered my car with Audi USA it comes back with a 310 hp rating for my vin ? Could it be that my silver is super/super fast ?
