recently purchased 99a6 avant. The aluminum panel that surrounds the tranny/tip shifter is scratched up pretty good... any ideas on how to "buff" it out?

Ends up being expensive.

will need another alternative. Why would people scratch an area like that? I have instructed the wife on exactly where any loose items are allowed to be stowed. That is definetely not one of the approved areas.

shiny aluminum.
Not a real smart idea to have that very easily scratchable metal right there (or anywhere). The brushed aluminum around the vents would've been a much better choice, dark or light colored, either way...shiny stuff...not so good and sometimes the damn sunlight reflects off it into my eyes!

gang, I brushed mine with 300 grit sandpaper, it wasn't that hard to do, I've posted pictures in my gallery, click on my id number and take a look

I was just trying to get some of the stuff out of the cracks surrounding it - the price you pay for being anal (damn - it's difficult to look at that word and know that you typed it).

Anyway, if it gets too bad I may try the "brushed look" (meaning fully scratched).
