Are alternators and Voltage regulators covered undered the 10yr/100k part of the warranty?

Wife's '99 Jetta (with 13K miles!) recently had a bad bearing noise coming from the right side of the engine near the accessories. Dealer warned me that if it was the alternator or A/C compressor, we'd be charged for the repair. Luckily (?) it turned out to be a bad timing belt idler which is part of the engine and warrantied.

The 164 was rear ended - getting fixed next week ( the Integra that hit, was a write-off ). The 75 ( Milano w/164S motor ) has a new carbon kevlar clutch and is going to Streets of Willow this weekend. The Milano Verde is in the garage waiting for time to replace the timing belt and tune-up.
