I had the exact same thing happen to me. This may be the right time to upgrade to sport mirrors.

I had the same thing happen to me, IT SUCKS. This may be the right time to upgrade to the sport mirrors which are cheaper and come pre-painted. Just food for thought.

I've had my car for three months (a 96 also) and it has been hit twice! Both times not my fault and the other's insurance paid for it. I think i have a "hit me" sign on my car. I get it back tommarow from the shop (it's been two weeks), and both accidents total around $2,000. ok, i'm done, good luck with your car.

Please note, I learned this the hard way. If you ever have an accident with a commercial vehicle, get all of the companies information as well. The truck driver that hit me provided me only with his drivers license, but no company insurance or registration. The license plate turned out to be from a pest control truck that had expired since and the company is not listed anywhere....this really was a fly-by-night firm... the phone numbers he gave me where all bogus and the addresses were unlisted.

lesson is that if they can't produce the information, call the cops to see the damage....I could have been stuck with paying the deductible now even though I was rammed from the back.
