In case you didn't notice, its red.

I have been on the board for a month or so, but haven't posted a picture yet, because my digicam was in a box that just arrived from France.

This is my 6th Audi. In fact, they are the only cars I have owned as a primary driver since I finished school in 85. I got hooked on them while at school; my campus (MTU) was in the town that hosted the SCCA `Press On Regardless' rally. I remember watching Audi-ace John Buffum, after making up the stagger, passing arch-rival Rod Millen on the inside of a one-lane corner, by driving in the weeds! I said to myself, `I gotta get me one of these!' The rest is history. Speaking of history: A little Audi-graphy:

1999 - 1.8T A6 (Euro Spec) - Noir Metalic / Cuir Noir
180ch in a Frontrack. Great car for 160 Kph cruising on the Autoroutes!

1986 - 2.8 A4 Quattro - Classic White / Grey Leather
One of the first A4s sold in the Twin Cities! The beginning of the road back for Audi. Before this year, you would wave at ANYONE in another Audi, and this in the town with the highest proportion of Audis/people in the USA.

1991 - 2.3 90 Quattro 20v - Black / Black Leather. 15in BBS
The last of the I5s(*). One of the best Audis. One of the few I regret selling to this day.

1983 - 2.1 Turbo Quattro Coupe - Mars Red / Black Leather
Awesome. Bought it from Audi. Was a company car. Did the Hella headlight mods, and the Abt gauge pack mod. Would like to have it back. Badly.

1986 - 2.2 Audi Coupe Ltd Edition - Alpine White / Red Leather
Great car. Could it really have had only 110HP and 14 inch wheels? It did, and was a great car. It was however, a BAD year to by a new Audi.

(*) Not counting of course, the late, lamented, ur-S4 and ur-S6

Good to be part of this family!

Mine had 15" Speedline wheels (similar to Coupe) from the factory (crunched one and paid $350 to replace it). Lots of character and technology. Sold it this Spring for $6500 to a guy who gave it to his 18 year old kid. Lucky bastard.

May not be the best for you, becase it is slightly up and to the front, and the contrast on the wheel wells is not great.

I can tell you however, that a friend has a 2.7T without the PSK, and his car looks like it is 'on stilts' next to mine. He is not happy. BTW, last weekend some friends and I did a 4-way comparo:
A6 2.7T PSK 6spd
A6 2.7T 6spd
A6 2.8 Quattro tip
S4 6spd

I'll post the details and perpectives after I type them all up!

I think I'd do PSK springs with a good aftermarket shock - the Eibachs are pretty stiff. Mine have sagged 1/4" since install too. It's pretty low.

How're your roads? You gonna run 17s or 18s? Have you done PSK sway bar?

CCB-27t: Very nice. You may want to consider adding Audi rear deck spoiler, and mud guards (especially with MN winters).

Just my opinion, but I always considered the 17" BBS RCs mounted on 225/40s as lost souls inside that wheel well. I think S4 Avus mounted on 235s would show much better.

Just my thoughts.
Good luck....

What about service in the area? Who have you used or avoided?

Maplewood Imports.
All of my US cars save the ur-Quattro came from there. Last two from Joe Bergeron, who is a good guy. Service there is good; I have never had a reason to complain. If you want, they will do regular checkups and work by picking up your car from the office, and have it back mid afternoon. I think I went 2 years in the A4 without personally going to the dealer.

German Auto Works did most of my post-warrantee work, but there was not much of that. They seemed about 10-15% cheaper cost-wise.

I bought the ur from Carousel; from Rob Seuss. A good guy also. I like both dealership. However, they are owned by the same people, so it is unlikely you will see a big price war between the two.

My preferred car is red, the brighter the better, though it attracts cars that want to race and the police like fly paper! The rarity makes it nice in an A6 though.
