Anyone interested in them? These are the current style front and rear emblems. I have been asked by many people on the board as to where to get it. well, one person said that it is not universally accepted to rebadge your beloved 4.2 or 2.7t as an S6. But hey, what the heck. I am no fashion police and i don't care if you put the badges on your car or on your desk.
Oh, I have seen way too many RS4's around. If anyone is interested in a RS6 rear badge for their allroad, or neonatal S6 avant, or whatever you have, i will even try to make one available by combining a RS4 emblem and a S6 for you.
Please post your interest here and I will contact you for ordering info. Thanks.

of course, it's your car, your prerogative, my laughing at your expense when I see that you really don't have it.

to S1 that rebadging is not generally accepted. While it is his car, yes, I believe that this forum represents the heart of the Audi enthusiast corp and as such should set the example. Just MHO though :)

With a soon to be chipped 2.7T I'm thinking about having something on the rear of my car that sets it apart from the other 2.7T's. I think an OE S6 badge with nothing else on the rear is stretching it a little, but not much if your 2.7T has a sport package and 315 chipped horsepower; afterall it's faster then an S6. If you have a 2.8 with the 2.8 removed and an S6 badge then that is definitely false advertising. What I plan on doing is removing the A6 from the rear, leaving the 2.7T and finding just a red sport badge without the 6 to replace the A6. Then againg that S6 badge looks nice, and as long as I can back up the performance then I don't think poser applies...IMO.
Keep me posted on what you have avail and prices.

S1- I ain't the fashion police either and unless you are a real Audi fan, the average person will not even realize (or for that matter recognize)that what you are driving is not a S6. I would be very interested in the new* S6 Chrome mirrors.
S6 emblems front and back and
S6 upper and lower grills. What sort of price are you talking?

I beleave labeling your car as a specific other car is still somewhat ricey.
Even though you can get a 2.7t faster than an S6, and yeah the S6 logo looks nice, its still saying your car is an S6 and its really not.
It would be the same as if someone moded out an integra LS and put a TypeR logo on it. Its not a typeR, its a regular integra with a faster engine.
Putting the audi sport logo on your car, maybe instead of the A6, or whatnot is different because your not saying "I am driving X car." its more of saying "I enjoy my sporty audi".

"unless you are a real Audi fan, the average person will not even realize (or for that matter recognize)that what you are driving is not a S6"
The "average person" doesn't know an S6 from an A4, nor do they care. So when someone who does know, asks about your "S6," do you admit it's just a frail ego display, slink away or lie?
If wearing a fake Rolex, carrying a fake Coach, tightening a fake Gucci, clicking a fake Mont Blanc or driving a fake S6 makes you feel better about yourself, it's good (and cheap) therapy. But, just who are you fooling?
Of course, all just IMO.

than the S6, so that stuff will not fit at all. If it is that important to you, then buy/trade for a A6 4.2...then the S6 grilles (upper and lower) will fit...and you will have the sexy flared fenders, too!

Pete: I have a '01' 4.2 w/sport pkg. I just ordered the S6 upper grill, but my Audi dealer parts dude did not have info. on the lower grill. Info. he has now, states no difference.
I believe there is. Different grill pattern. Are you familiar with this?
Also, my same part dude gave me a price of $299/ea (their cost)for S6 Avus rims 17"x8". Which I will use for my winter set of tires. Is he quoting me the right price for the right rim?

I read somewhere on the forum that the offset on the 4.2 was 35mm but higher on the S4/2.7T. I would assume that they have different brake calipers, but don't understand why the 4.2 would be smaller.

Screw what other people think, do what you want, seriously...if it is cool with you and you like it, go for it.
I'm thinking of putting the Rolls Royce flying naked lady thing on the front of my A6...it feels like a Rolls to me ;)

i think the 4.2 owners and chipped 2.7T owners can honestly say, 'hey, i m proud of my A6 and sure, it as nice as a S6.' of course an emblem or 2 doesn't make anything something else. but it's nice looking. the A6 emblem looks unclean. they can debadge them and do whatever to it.
it looks weird if the car has nothing but an S6 badge to go with the performance upgrade u've got. Just like i have seen 318i's with nothing but a ACSchnitzer badge. But, if the owner really did something to their beloved car and it really get close to what it feels to them, so be it.
the carrera badge on a bettle is too funny!
of course, if you are really faking it and got nailed by let say an M3 or something, that's your problem. i think any chipped 2.7T is as nice as any A6, and if anyone wants to wear a S6 badge, go for it. if you are driving a 2.8 and it really doesn't run, then forget about it and yeah, it will look ricey.
You know, I agree that the average people can't tell even between a passat and an A6 now, while any moderately educated enthusiast can tell you that there is no official S6 around. (and a high school kid can tell you that you ain't sitting on those damn nice looking recaro's.) it's alright. as long as i am not overkilling and putting a bugatti or lamborghini badge on my audi, lol. (hey, i have seen a Mercedes Benz badged Ssangyong mini SUV in asia. lol)
btw, rolex make those tudors that look pretty damn like fake rolexes. i think VW is stealing that idea and making VW like Audi's now.
as for the audisport badge... well, i don't know which ones you guys are referring to, but the red stipes ones with the silver on the older S6 emblem looks great. why not those ones instead of the new S6 emblems? unless you get to about 1 foot, you can't tell it reads S6. LLtek or A!Avantgarde has logos that similar to it (for the average people they look the same!).
i got a license plate frame with Audisport on it. looks alright.
audiworld god or fashion police, with the audisport logo around my license plate now, I am accused of faking to be driving a R8 now, am I?! You think the average people will think i am driving a Lemans racer? lol.

"So when someone who does know, asks about your "S6," do you admit it's just a frail ego display, slink away or lie? "
No, many 4.2 owners have the financial abilities to purchase or lease an S6 if it is available in the US. and if you ask owners here on the board how many of them would have gotten one or would consider one, you will be surprised.
Yes, dressing it up like an S6 remedies that sad feeling that AoA is not offering the car here. it is not a lie. i have seen S8 badged A8 around before they are made available here. You think they try to fool anyone? no. just to say, hey, if they make one, i would buy it. until then, a S8 badged A8 would nicely do. same feeling most of us have with the S6 now.

You may have to wait for the new S6 parts info to arrive at your dealer's parts department to know the answer to that question. They may already have that stuff if he can quote you his/dealer cost for the S6 AVUS wheels. I'd say that is a very good price if you want those wheels...I paid $235 each for mine in last year's group-purchase. Might check with Clair Parts to see if they have prices on those wheels.

front brakes...same as the S4. The wheel off-sets are different from the S4 to the 2.7T and the 4.2, but the S4 wheels will still "fit" on all the A6s.

Regardless of how the stock badges look, replacing them with badges of a different model is the exact definition of "Rice".
If you can live with it, fine. :) Your car, your choice.
I'd rather spend money on modifications that improve performance.

Whether you think it's better than something, or equal to an S6 or whatever...it's still not an *S6.* Do you think an A4 1.8t owner is justified by putting an upgraded turbo on his car...then putting S4 badges on his car because it's as fast? Or how about a 2.8 A4 owner with a supercharger...the list goes on.

I think I'll get a civic, do some engine mods, lower it, add some rims, then put a type R badge on the car. No one will be able to tell the difference, plus...it'll be "my way of saying" that I want the car in the US, just in case a representative from Honda of America sees my car, and if they would care. Kind of ironic that the only people that could tell a difference between a real S6 and an S6 badged as an A6 are the ones that would find it tacky.

And Civic Type Rs aren't available in the US anyway even if I had the money. So I put my Civic Type-R badging on my Kia Rio. Don't blame me, blame Honda!
I'm upgrading it to an Acura RSX Type-S badge soon because Acuras are more prestigous.

Dan, thanks for the enthusiasim. But why would someone who knows that a S6 is unavailable here yet, ask you if it is a S6? Tough crowd in St. Louis. Why do you change the stock rims on your car, or upgrade to one of the many options available to you? To customize the car to your tastes, thats why. Rebadging is another form of self-expression on the part of an Audi enthusiastic to make their Audi, their own.
As far as being confronted, as you mentioned, why lie and get caught? Tell it as it is, re-done to express your tastes.
Now, as far as those fake watches, bags, pens, belts and such- I live in NYC- where everything is a knock-off. Why pay designer prices for something that only you know where it originated from? Cheap therapy?-maybe, Smart shopping-definitley!
