Has anyone installed the Audi mud flaps, particularly with 235 series tires?

My 235s are great, but splash all over the lower portion of the car. I'd like to know if the mud flaps help with this.

Thanks,

I have had the mud guards since delivery and am running 235/45/17's. They are effective and discreet (relatively). I have silver so the black mud guards do not look out of place. They actually blend fairly well into the shadow of the well and the tire.

On the red I would think that they would look pretty good (red/black classic contrast). BTW I also have the S5. No Audi owner that has inspected my car has ever commented on their presence.

I say they are a win - win for most colors. Some have trimmed them with a suspension modification so you may need to cut and dig out the dremel to do some aesthetic finishing. Absolutely no pitting behind, around, above, the well. Front of each well takes a beating but I have 3M there so it is not too bad.

My $.02 says go for it and remove if unhappy.

I just installed them on my Tornado Red A6. You don't notice them after the first few minutes. They've got to help reduce the crud thrown up by wider tires. Coverage (protection) on the front seems a bit better than the rears.
Installation is a breeze, as long as you have a T25 Torx driver.

Installed them on a 2000 Silver 2.7 T PSK now with 17X8 and 235/45/17s. Would not do
without them. A small modification was needed on the right front to clear a steel hose (a few minutes work). The instructions say to remove the wheels - I'd recommened it also.

Yes I have and I have 225/50/16 tires. I have found that the front flaps will scrape in a large dip. I recomend trimming the front flaps if you do not wish to hear them scrape every time you go through a major dip over 20 mph.

Our Audi
