I've been looking all over the web and calling all over the place to find an exhaust sys. for my A6. The ones I found were either too exp (AMS), or too ugly (TAP). SO I decided to go for the Borla.
As far as I know, Borla doesn't have a application for A6 2.7t. But one muffler shop down here in Arcadia, LA. suggested me that they can "make it fit" for me. Now, I have no clue how reliable this shop is. If anyone of you live down here in Socal, pls referr me some shop that will do the job right.
Also, any other suggestions on the exhaust issue?
thanx

the A62.7T (in fact, all A6s) have "hidden" exhaust tips. This is accomplished by turning them down behind the rear valence panel, AND the next panel/strut behind the valence panel. Unless the Borla rear muffler has "downturned" tips you are looking at some $$$ work to make them fit. Previous posts have talked about the ABT system and how expensive it is...both as rear mufflers and the time/modifications it takes to install.
Good luck, and keep us posted.
Peter R Dieckerhoff

I had a custom exhaust put on my A6 2.7t in Longmont CO. It was ~640 dollars or so total. It used stainless 2.5 " press bent tubing w/ 2 2.5" Borla turbo mufflers. The tips camestraight out of the mufflers about 1/2" below the rear bumper. I will post a picture one of these days (when I get the film developed) I like the way it looks and sounds but especially the apparent power gain above 4k rpm.

are you looking for:
1. appearance
2. sound
3. performance
The answer would effect the type of exhaust to get. Last I heard, APR has it in their sights to build downpipes
Brett

Buy the rear valence from the Euro S6 that has cut outs for the exhaust - it looks totally killer!
Brett

That panel insert below the bumper (black one) is replaceable. The allroad one has a pass through for the exhausts. Also the TT (225) one does. I don't know if the TT one will fit though.

He's a guy I trust, and he seems to think it will look fine. He starts with a cut, and then goes to a file system to smooth out the edge. Since I'm going for looks only, I'm going to get the stainless tips, and have him do the work. I'll let you know how it goes....

Are you cutting out the entire panel, or just spaces for the tips?
2001 Pearl Blk psk w/Van/Onyx, 6sp UUC, 235/45 SP9000's w/17x8 Fittipaldi Polaris, MTM G2 chip soon.

Borla does not make a cat-back system for the A6 2.7t. This system was all custom and built by a local shop using Borla mufflers. I did not choose to use the borla tips but instead went with a 3" chrome tip with a slight angle to it.
