Anyone from the Philadelphia area get a speeding ticket? I was going about 60 mph in a 35 zone and was cited for careless driving. The ticket amount was for $93 dollars and 3 points.. ouch.. However I have a NJ licence and registration. Anyone know what the best way to go about perhaps reducing the points is? In NJ I heard of being able to go to court and pleading guilty to the public defender and many times they will drop the points for you.. However, I don't know how this works in Philadelphia.. The lady I spoke to at court told me to mail in the form from the ticket and mark it "not guilty". Then she told me that at the trial I should tell the judge my situation of not being familiar with the area and hopefully he will reduce it or drop the points.
People within the Philadelphia please help with exactly what I can do! Thank you so much!
Chris K
98.5 1.8TQAS

I heard from a friend of mine that what ever points you get in an incident outside NJ, that is considered as 2 points only. I would suggest you call up your DMV and ask them for exact information.
hope that helps,
Prat

Some states have a policy of not reporting your offense to the other states DMV if you pay the fine in time.
Penn, NY are like that. I have received tickets in Penn and they said if you pay in 30 days they wont report to NY DMV. And they didnt. No points for me back then.
