I've talked to some companies that import cars... well they did until they stopped because of the hassle. They said for the S6+ I'd be looking at at about 3x the price of the car to get it here and get it street legal. Too many issues to list.

So, the only realistic option really would be to bring it here, and just keep it as a classic and for off-road use. Hmm anybody have a spare $30k to spend on a car you can't drive on any road??
-----

That's what I thought until I found one! $30K would include a RT airfare/travel expenses to check the car out, make sure it gets on the ship, etc... also would include the shipping costs, and US transportation from LA to wherever you are. Getting tempted yet?
-----

The nogaro wagon built by Quattro Gmbh... 1997 only. This car is USED but one of the rarer Audis in the world. See below...
-----

The hassles are beyond most most folks patience and pocket books. To bring a car in via private party, you need to prove that it is out of production, rare, has special purpose, will be used less than 1500 miles( ? on the street ) or on the track only.

If that still does not deter you, try Sun Imports in West L.A. - not sure of exact location. They have brought in the R5 Turbo, Metro rally cars, etc.

Good luck !

Curiously, what is it about the S6+ that you like over the UrS6 avant? If it is in the details (leather/alcantara seats, blue faced (!) gauges, etc.), perhaps you could spec-out an UrS6 avant.

If it is something more fundamental (V8 vs. 20V turbo, 6-speed) it would cost you an arm and a leg, but at least you could drive the car as much as you wanted.

If it is just the car itself in all of its rarity, I guess you are mostly out of luck (as are those of us who would like to have an RS2).

Good luck!
Jimmy

It is mainly about the car being so rare and unique.

But in reality, the chances are all but none now since it wouldn't be street legal unless I were really dumb about it and decided to spare no expense in getting an S6+ here and legal. I'll probably be looking at a UrS6 sedan and tuning it within the next year or so.
-----

Find an UrS6 Avant - I believe there are only around 375 total in the US. Get a buddy in Europe to acquire the interior pieces that are different. Seats/Gauges, etc. Find a wrecked A8 or A6 4.2, pull the drivetrain, install it in the UrS6. The engine is a 4.2, 300hp 4.2 V8 is I believe what the S6+ had (JimmyP, do you know for sure?), and then you'd have an ersatz-S6+ that is at least drivable and legal. Or do what any number of others have done, which is buy a used UrS4/S6 for between $15000-28000, add $5K in MTM/Hoppen chips, RS2 Turbo and Exhaust Manifold and end up with 340 reliable, streetable horsepower that will blow away pretty much any stock Audi ever sold in the US.
Good luck,
Jim
