I got the VAG-COM beta system from Uwe Ross (www.ross-tech.com). Uwe is a good guy and the product is a great start. I need to find a service manual for procedures (I don't think Bentley has one for the 2.7T yet), but so far it has enabled me to do two things:

1. I cleared the power supply error code you get when you replace your ECU/chip.

2. I successfully recoded central locking according to the codes listed in the FAQ. No more having to convince the dealer! I coded the car as follows: no honk when locking, unlock does all the doors, and I can control the windows from the key remote

PS I was able to do OK using Windows 2000

I've been trying since a week before I bought my car to acquire the *paper* shop manuals for the MY2000 A6. (Bentley CD not due until "fall" and got very poor reviews in S4 forum.) Dyment keeps saying they don't have them, and to call back in a month. AoA says they know nothing, call Dyment. Dyment is at 800-544-8021, maybe if they get enough calls they'll find something out?

AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH! Anyone had any better luck?

I too have VAG-COM Beta and it's great! It worked fine under Win2K on my laptop as well. If I could only get it to work right on my Libretto I'd be a truly happy camper. (FWIW, it's an old slow Libretto running NT, so problem isn't likely to be with VAG-COM.)<p>Richard
