Was looking at the A4 brocure and noticed that the trim piece above the stereo is actually wood, not the black plastic of the A6. Anyone know if this piece would fit the A6? It looks to be the same size. I'll have to check with my dealer when I go in for my 8k service next month...Thanks in advance.

Unfortunately no. It is a completely different shape at the top. I believe the dimension across the front is close but the top has a deep lip. I too was looking for a wood piece for that exact same section. It looks unfinished to me without it there.

I tried a couple of the wood trim shops but they do not have enough interest to make the piece cost effective. I am looking for other alternatives and I will e-mail you or post here if I find a good solution.

From the A6 Allroad interior picture, the piece you mentioned is wood. So I think when it hits the US market, replacement parts will become available.
