I drove from Cape Cod back to upstate NY today - we've had warm weather for the last week or so - but today it rained strongly and turned cold. All the way back from Cape Cod I watched the external temperature gauge falling - finally across the freezing point. I drove for a stretch of 20 miles where the trees were coating with ice and bending under the weight.

My month old A6 2.7T 6M with the Continental tires ran beautifully. A few times, on curves, I felt a slight vibration as the power was shifted around. The car handled great all the way - this is also a very comfortable car on a long trip.

For the last 20 miles the rain turned to sleet with significant accumulation of icy slush on the roads - I passed lots of cars that had gone off I90 onto the center median or into the woods on the outside. I passed two BMW 5xx's that had slid off the road - that could have been me - I'm very pleased with the A6. Conditions were pretty bad but it was straightforward to recover from minor slips and slides.

I love driving this car - even in poor weather.
