The Audi Web Site lists the optional 17" wheels as "polished" while the sport package lists the 17" as "forged alloy sport". Has anyone seen a 4.2 w/sport package? Are the wheels different than the optional 17" alone?

View Full Version : Anyone seen an A6 4.2 w/sport package? Chris B 12-29-1999, 12:59 PM Hillrider 12-29-1999, 03:31 PM The specs say P255/40R17 (vs 16 inch); is that the case (you say 18" in your post) Are you satisfied ("it's a bit too low") or would you have rather gotten the regulars? I am about to place an order. BTW, am I right to assume that you need 9mm snow chains (12mm would not fit)? Ali B 12-29-1999, 04:05 PM I have only seen the standalone $750 17" wheels (called polished, even though they don't look polished). Apparently, the $1500 sport package includes same size 17 x 8 wheels in polished 5-spoke design (similar to A8 17" wheels) and sport front seats. There has not been a mention of a sport suspension upgrade until very recently. Orders placed from now on will probably include a sport suspension. You may want to check with your dealer about pricing. The sport package for the A6 2.7T is now priced at $1000 (up from $750), presumably because of the inclusion of sport suspension.
