Picked up my 2.8 back in Nov 98...love the car so far and find A4.org very<br>informational.<p>I am just curious about all the literature on the 8-speaker Concert system...I<br>can only locate 6 speakers. 2 pairs in the front doors and 1 pair on the rear deck.<br>Where is the 4th pair?<p>Raymond.<br>98 2.8MS

There are no rear door speakers on the Concert radio.... at least in the '98's. There are 2 speakers in each front door (including the tweeters) and supposedly two pair of speakers in the rear. I would still count this as only 6 speakers, but I guess it's Audi's way out of false advertising.

I also have the Audio package. and I've made no audio changes of my own.<p>According to the Edmunds webpage, the standard equipment list has 8-speakers. I had trouble find speakers #7 and #8 until I was vacumming my car with the stereo on one day. To my surprise, there were speakers in the rear doors.<p>The speakers on the rear deck are subwoofers ONLY. They are not two-in-one speakers, at least not in my system. Are the non-audio-package cars coming with only six speakers perhaps, or do we all need to look closely at our rear doors? (Hint, turn on the stereo and open a rear door as a simple test.)<p>;-)<p>

the concert system has 8 speakers yes. One driver and one tweeter in each front door, and basically two coaxials (two speakers in one housing) in the rear deck. Do you have the "Bose" symbol on your front speakers?

Two tweeters near front door handles.<br>Two mids near base of front doors.<br>Two mids/fulls?? near base of rear doors.<br>Two fulls on rear deck.

I'm quite certain that I have the eight speakers and that the rear deck speakers are subwoofers and not coaxial speakers.<p>But, I was led to believe, from the Edmund's website that 8-speakers are standard. However, I just looked at the Buyer's Guide on A4.org and it implies that 8-speakers are part of the Bose Audio Package. So perhaps Edmund's has led me astray.<p>FWIW, I have a 98.5 A4.<p>Sorry for the confusion.<br>

Some people claim that there's a ninth speaker,<br>a subwoofer underneath the rear right seat. Some<br>people claim that the 9th speaker is only in the<br>Avant and not in the Sedan. Can you please clarify<br>which claim is true?
