I was planning to paint my VW GTI the 97-99 color L0B9, pearl white. I was wondering if any of you have pictures of this color and could comment on it's durability and ease of cleaning. Thanks.Pics can be sent to pgk2@lehigh.edu, or posted.

I was told by my dealer that pearl white was discontinued because it faded into a weird color that was later hard to match... it also had a different aging or fading on plastic parts vs the body. That was his reason for Audi going to Casablanca White from Pearl White. This may all very well be a selling tool... I liked Pearly White, and I love my Casablanca White that I have now.

Check into it and send some pics if you decide to go with Pearl White...

Also, casablanca white did not replace pearl; it was already available.

The Pearl White effect is best appreciated in person, so you can move around the car and see the light and color change as it reflects off the car. Still photos do not do it justice. It appears cream colored, flat white, or silver, depending on how the light hits it.

Just sharing some info on the casablanca white. Keep it waxed, even waxing this color more that needed is recommended, oh and never touch it accidentally with a watch, ring, ect.... First of all not havin a clear coat the paint picks up stains really easy. Second antime a piece of metal does not matter if a light tap or a large strong movement it scratches like hell. Waxing will normally take care of any thing that happens to this paint. I have found that waxing tis color every three months works the best. Sorta overkill, but those little stains if left longer that a week between washings is a bitch to come out especally if you did not wax it w/in the last three months. In some ways I wish I had the bluish green color back from my old Audi but this casablaca white is perfect when clean and cared for.
