Hey All,

Took my A4 1.8T QTIP in for it's 10,000 checkup....it's been in there (Laurel Audi, Chicago area) for 2 WEEKS!!!
Normal checkup..plus a replacement speaker and a cup holder (don't ask). Well...I told them the engine light had come on...but the car was running fine. They said..." in by 8am...out by 5pm"..well...one day passed...not ready.
The car didn't even go INTO the shop until 4pm that day....
Next day...no call..I called them at 4:30pm..."oh yes..we were just going to call you...."
Waiting on a part (a computer control module)...will be in tomorrow.
Guess what...yep..no call..and "Still waiting..tomorrow for sure"

Did I get a rental? No...WHY...well...

I would have to leave work early,,,to get there before the car rental place closes....MUCHO hastle..besides..it would be "tomorrow".

After a week..we arranged for a rental to be picked up on Sat....guess what..when I arrived...no car, no "sorry's"...no concern!!

I was furious.....!

A coll on Monday, and I was told that NONE of these modules were even in North America...and that It was being shipped from Germany...the entire Computer module (with software upgrades). The Service manager FINALLY apologized...and setup a loner A6 to drive.

Well..it turned out to be an 1996 A6....to bad really....

My wife is looking at buying a car in March 2000. We were all set on another A4 (or the Passat). Now she's pissed and looking at the Toyota Camary?!! I had her looking at a 1999 or 1998 A6...but now..she wants no part of them....

Audi has failed me.

Anyone else experience this "mystery" missing part?

Sorry for your misfortune. Laurel sucks big time when it comes to customer service; after shopping for my 1999.5 A4 and going there twice, the attitude of their salespeople (whose destinies those two days seemed to be to stand around and be oblivious to potential customers) really turned me off. I got much better customer service at Continental Audi in Aurora. Guess where I wound up getting the car? Thanks go to John Sargent and Fred Eggleston at Continental for their superior service.

Hey All,

Audi or the dealer have failed me. They (Laurel Audi) were really nice...up until I pulled out the
Internet price sheets (during negotiations).....and this latest service.

I'm disapointed in the total lack of compasion and professionalism. Had they told me the chip would take 2 weeks to get here...and then set me up with a car...fine....I would have been unhappy about not having my Car...but I would still be mobile.

As it stands...i probably won't have my car for the weekend.

In this day of Overnight, FedEx...track the package to the door technology..I REFUSE to beleive, that they don't know WHEN the damn chip will arrive.

Unexceptable.....

Well.....they promised the chip would be in by Wed. Guess what? It's Thursday.......and I called them (they can't seem to call ME) and informed me that the chip will be atleast another 10days....so..i'm thinking 15!!!

I asked for my car back. They said the "problem" with the CONTROL UNIT wasn't causing any real problems at this time (the car has ALWAYS run well) and that it would be safe to drive.

They said they would call me when the chip come in...sure...i plan on calling every other day!!

I'll let you know when my car is truely healed.....

Not impressed....it's a chip for #$#% sake!!!
