Is there a good trailer hitch available for the A4Avant. I know the purists would shudder to think of a trailer hitch being installed, but I need to get my beach cat to water somehow. Anyone know what the towing specifications are for the A4 2.8qm Avant with a sports suspension?

I'm planning on putting a hitch on my 1.8T with Sport this spring. 1200 (or 1400) max without trailer brakes and 2000 lbs with. I'm only towing about 600 lbs. (snipe sailboat plus trailer www.snipe.org) so I'm not too worried. I haven't found a hitch yet, but I haven't really looked either. I beleive draw tite makes one for the A4.

I installed a Da'lan 1.250" hitch on my '99 A4. Has a 2000 lb load limit with a 200 lb tongue weight. Only hard part was getting the bumper off in order to drill some holes. Besides that, a piece of cake and quite invisible to boot. I got it from www.hitch-web.com.<p>
