This afternoon, I called Livermore Audi in CA and spoke with the salesperson there. I told him that I wanted to come by and test drive an A4 Sport. He said that he would be there until 8 PM that night, so I told him that I would swing by before 8. So after work, I hit the nasty commute traffic to Livermore, which is about 45 minutes out of my way. When I got to the dealership at 7:40, I learned that the salesguy had split!!! He was the only person who handles Audis there, so I had just wasted a large part of my Friday evening. :^( What a jerk!

Try to talk to 'April' at Livermore Audi.
She seems very friendly and no typical
sales pressure.

So yesterday this salesguy (Mark) blew me off. I called him this morning and explained the problem I had with him not being there when he said he would be. He responds with "That's right, I wasn't here" in a totally unconcerned way, like it's no big deal.

What a PR*CK. After I explain to him how I drove 45 mins out of my way on a Friday night, he says nothing, like he's waiting for me to make my point. Finally, he says "OK, what do you want me to do about it?" like he doesn't have a clue. So I say "You could apologize!" And he says "OK, I'm sorry that you felt annoyed because you thought I should have been here."

This guy's arrogance is beyond belief! Anyway, today I submitted a Customer Service complaint with the Auda USA Web page explaining the situation. I hope this bastard gets thrown into the street on his ass!

What makes this more frustrating for me is that I had wanted to test drive the A4 sport on Vine Road (I think it's Vine) in Livermore, which winds through the hills. This would have been the ideal road for testing this car's abilities.

Use the dealer locator to find them. They are near those huge BankAmerica buildings, on
a street called something like "Main Street".

Wait, I remember Ernst's telephone number (925-682-3150 x138)

Tell him Steve sent you.

to Hwy 242 exit (about 5 miles north of hwy 24 interchange). It's the first exit after you get on 242 (can't remember the name), at the end of the offramp turn left, and the Audi dealer is down about 1/2 mile on your left. You'll love Ernst....like Steve says, he really is great! The phone # there is (925) 682-3150. That other guy really was an assh...

I find him refreshingly straightforward, well informed, and apparently a very solid guy, not a pretend-to-be-whatever-sells-a-car type.

Other nice salespeople I've met:
Daniel at Anderson-Behel (San Jose),
Mike Bradley at Carlsen (Palo Alto),
Randy Hill at Rector (Peninsula).

I can't say I'd have had such good luck with brands other than Audi.
