Does anyone have any experience with chips. I'm thinking about ABt, Ottelinger, Neuspeed, Wett..., etc... companies like TAP seem too extreme for me.

Concerns and desires:
(1) no reduction in torque under 2000rpm,
(2) not too high a boost (is 1 bar safe??)
(3) longevity and driveability
(3) no reduction in torque under 2000 rpm....(I have been told that on most chips, the torque map under 2500rpm shows the new chips to have less bhp and torque than the existing chips..is this true.)

Also, is there a difference between Euro chips and chips mapped in North America??...which works better in a North American A4

What is safest was for 200 bhp. (my thought is k&n plus chip plus exhaust for a simple 50 hp)

Has anyone

I've APR's chip/ecu. The chip changes the character of the car, much more fun to drive. My problem is, now I want even more. I'm looking forward to the Stage III kit, maybe next year.

APR is really good with cust. svc., so call em. Link provided

www.goapr.com/</a

....have you done it lately? Even doing a simple search of an obscure topic with one subject and one qualifier can sometimes get you over 40 responses. The archives are huge and getting bigger! I think we can hardly blame people who don't know to search the archives or jsut refuse to. I've noticed this glut of info in just the nine months I've been visting. The days of "SEARCH THE ARCHIVES!!!" may be over. We may just have to start repeating ourselves each time a question is asked until a decent FAQ is created on a given topic.
