The owner's manual says the voltage should be between 12 and 14. I consistently show 14.5. What are the long term considerations, if any?

My voltage gauge in the instrument cluster also reads around 14.5V when seated normally but a voltmeter shows 13.2V consistently. I noticed that there is a large amount of parallax error in all of the gauges. If I line up perfectly perpendicular to the gauge (moving my head to the side) the reading is correct. Verify with a voltmeter (if you haven't) and let us know what you find...

First, check with a meter the voltage at the battery with the car running. If it is 14.5, then the battery is going to have excess bubble formation and you will need to add water frequently. They may be some impact on the electronics with extended higher voltages.
Paul

14.5 volts is normal for a battery. What cooks your battery is current not voltage. Try going 130 and your alternator will be putting out 16 or 17 volts.
Corey
