Can someone help me with my dilemna. If money weren't an object, would you chose the A4 Avant or the A6 Avant? Priced with the options that I would like (loaded for the A4 and adequate for the A6), the price difference is only about $5000. I just do not want to kick myself in the pants after my purchase. While I like the more sporty/fun character of the A4, the luxuriousness and room (ie leg room) of the A6 are unparalleled.
The other confounding factor is that I really wanted a manual, but it looks like the A6 won't be getting one anytime soon(according to the dealer). I'm just not sure that the luxuriousness of the A6 can make me forget about the tip (which I find to be a bit gadgety). Unfortunately I have to make up my mind soon as I have to buy one or the other by june. I haven't had any luck with dealers. I don't know if is just Audi, but their dealers seem to know absolutely nothing about forthcoming model info. The dealer I visited claims they don't know of changes until 2-3 months before availability. Obviously he was able to fill me in on the time frame for the sports suspension and manual transmission options in the A6. That seems a bit ridiculous! (he claims I can't even order the face-lifted A4 yet, even If I was willing to wait!!)
Can someone give me some valuable feedback to help with my decision.
Thanks to all
MJ

Well it really depends on what you want. If you want a very, very comfortable family cruiser where you can seat 4 without the slightest problems and 5 if you have to, get the A6. If you transport 2 and only occasionally more, you will not notice the lacking leg room in the back that much.
The A4 is much more "nervous". One could almost say that it's sporty :-) Something I surely would not say about the A6. Basically, I could run circles with my A4 around my dad's A6. But when I need to drive 800 miles in one go on the freeway, esp. with passengers, there's nothing like an A6.
If I had kids, I'd have an A6 (or probably not because I could not afford it :). So far I am still enjoying single-ness, tho :)
- Stan
