Dealer called me to let me know that my new 99.5 tqm had arrived but as I am getting a dealer fitted body kit I can't have it for another 2 weeks because the front spoiler which was sent to them was for the previous model, @#$%!!. As I have already waited three months I guess 2 more weeks isn't gonna kill me. Anyway at the dealer there were about 8 other A4's (special orders) but mine was the only one with an underlined A4. That is, at the back all the identification such as A4 and 1.8T have been moved from the boot lid to each side of the license plate (normal) mine however was the only one with the A4 underlined in red. Does this mean anything???

There was supposed to be a 180Hp version of the 1.8T (Europe) which had the T in Red to denote the higher level of performance. Maybe your underline in Red indicates, "Sport Look".
By the way I've never seen a factory body kit for the A4 could you point me in the direction of some pictures or information regarding this, also how much are you paying...parts and labor separate.
Thanks,
James R.
99 1.8TMS

James,
My car and all the other new cars which have just arrived at the dealer have the red stripe beside the T, however mine is the only one with the A4 badge undelined in red. I don't think it would donate a "Sports look" because thats how it came from the factory and they wouldn't know that I have requested the Audi Body Kit for the car (I don't think they would anyway). Another guy is getting the Audi Body Kit and his, which came on the same boat as mine, doesn't have the A4 underlined....weird.....does anyone else have any ideas?????..as a reason must exist why it would have this from the factory.
I can't direct you at some pictures as the way I found out was when I went to the dealer to purchase the car 3 months ago they had an A4 with the Audi Body Kit and I absolutely fell in love with it. It's not overly "done up" I think it adds a touch of individualism to the A4 which is becoming quite common now. I'll post some images when I get the car in two weeks.
As for parts and labour, i'm in Australia and depending where you are it may not mean anything.
Cheers,
George,
soon to add 99.5 TQM to his name :)

I found this pic. on this board some time ago. It's a 1.8T with the "Engine package" which boosts hp from 150 to 180. It's denoted by the red in the badges.

George,
Either you ordered a "specialty" item not typical of standard options, or Audi likely does know if your plans for the trim kit.
When I visited Ingolstadt last summer, there were a number of cars in the show room that were "Individual Models." Usually this indicates some form of customization executed by quattro GmbH, an offsite performance / customization branch of Audi DE. However, I also learned that a number of the quattro GmbH mods were "standard" enough to be brought in house at the Ingoldstadt lines.
Didn't happen to notice a six-speed box in there? Xenon lights? Wierd color interior?
HTI,
Derek Daily

George,
I've been trying to find out how to order mods from Quattro GmbH for a long time from within the US. Are you in the US? What body kit did you get? How did you go about ordering it?
Thanks!

DD,
No I live in Australia. When I went to purchase the car the dealership (who I must say have been excellent - Porsche Center Melbourne - hi Rick and Dean) had a car with a body kit on the showroom floor. That car stood out amongst all the other Audi's on the floor including (in my eye's anyway) some of the Porsche's. I asked about the body kit and the dealer said that it is a Factory Audi Body Kit and he recommended that I go for it as opposed to a third-party kit (which they do supply) because if something happens to the kit it is under Audi warranty and if I need it replaced it is simply another A4 part no.
I instantly said that I wanted my car to look like that. We then filled "A Special Order Form" with some other options and three looonnng months later it arrived.
As for your question which body kit did I get I don't think you have a choice if you order the Audi Body Kit. Its got some funny name which I can't recall. If you like I could call the dealer and get some more details but I don't know how much help this would be as u live in the US,
but I guess if we can get it downunder i'm sure you guys can get it aswell.
Goodluck DD.
George (A couple of weeks way from having 99.5 TQM GmbH <- Can I say that :))

George,
If you could get more information about the kit, that would be really great. Most of the options have a manufacturers part number or code number. If your dealer could provide that, I'm sure it would be of great help.
By the way...we want pictures!
Thanks,
DD
