The A4 is the perfect sized car for white, but I'd classify Casablanca white as a bit on the dull side. I had a Mazda 626 turbo that was a really nice white, really brilliant, and I was going to get my A4 in white until I compared it to other white cars. It just didn't cut it for me.

Go to a big dealer with lots of inventory. Look at each car. You will know what color you want.
I especially like the way the black along the bottom accents things. With my Black paint it tends to blend in. I think the white would look great with tinted windows. Live and learn I guess.

I like it. I mistook it for silver at first. I think I like the fact that it isn't bright white. Good contrast of course with black trim e.g. 1.8T with onyx interior.
I went with Brilliant Black also. It is a pure black color and no other color can replace it. IMO - Volcano Black is quite nice and easier to take care of than the Brilliant Black but it's not TRUE black. It's like a blend between Black and Silver. Not my style.
My second choice was Casablanca White but it was not readily available from the local dealer lot.
I agree with you that the combination of White and dark Tint works very well.
/Seb
White does not show dirt as much as the darker colors, but is not as good as the silver or metallic beige. The German white paint is terrific (I have had it on my BMW too.)
Reggie
98.5 30vQMS Cassablanca White.

...I think it's a pretty decent color for the A4. It wasn't my first choice (I think Santorin Blue is awesome), but my local dealer didn't have a blue car with the options I wanted, and I didn't feel like waiting 3-4 months to order a car. This is the first white car I've owned and it definitely eliminates that annoying 'dust' problem that darker colors are prone to having very soon after washing. Still, white doesn't retain that 'clean' look as long as silver or melange (gold) does. I had a silver car before buying my A4 and that color looks good even if you don't wash it for a month. Casablanca White seems to be a relatively rare color for the A4. I haven't seen another one on the road yet, and I only know of a few others on the web who have it. It's definitely not a 'pure' white, but more of a very pale cream color.
My opinion is that you should focus on the INTERIOR colors you really like, and be willing to compromise on the exterior color. When you drive the car, you won't be looking at the exterior, right?
Bob W.
'99 A4 1.8Tqms, APR
Casablanca White with Ambiente Ecru

The A4 has rounded curves making the brilliant black stunning when clean. I think white looks better on angular cars with alot of black trim like the old BMW 3 series. The reflection off a dark colored A4 is excelent. Dark cars are OK if you don't mind hand washing the car and don't park under trees.
Mark (98.5 2.8 QMS brilliant black)

My A4 is casablanca white, and I really like the color. At first, I wished it were a little brighter white, but after seeing a lot of the newer bright white paint jobs cars are getting these days I think they look kind of bland and sterile (the new GM white comes to mind). The casablanca has really grown on me. Depending on the light it can look anywhere from bright white in the morning and afternoon, to a nice cream color in the late evening. It even takes on a pearlescent look at times (albiet, without the sparkle.) Better yet, the white paint helps keep my car cooler on those hot Texas days, and contrary to what most folks believe the white paint hides dirt very well (it almost always looks clean). I don't see many other casablanca A4's around, either - another benefit, IMHO.
Try it, you'll like it!!
Dave M - '97 1.8tm, sport, sunroof, casablanca/anthracite
