Ok, I'm probably just very uninformed about something, but after seeing yesterday's post about the APR kit putting out ~300hp/300torque @3000 rpm, a little bell went off in my head about the old hp vs. torque formula:
hp = torque*rpm/5252
One way or the other, there is something really wrong with APR's numbers:
hp = (300tq * 3000rpm)/5252 = 171hp.
or
torque = (5252*300hp)/3000rpm = 525torque@3000rpm (woohoo!!)
Could someone enlighten me, please? This kit will probably determine whether or not I get another A4. Thanks!

Maybe they're not at the same engine speeds. I think the 300 hp and 300 ft-lbs are peak values at different engine speeds, but I'm not sure.
Anyone know about how much this kit would cost?
I am so tempted by this kit that the $5k I put aside for initial upgrades might just goto this kit! I'm not sure but we'll soon see.
Marcus Frost
99.5 1.8TQM (F Status)

Everything stock on both. Both have every option but the phone (QMS, all weather, leather or leatherette). Then the 2.8 gets the PES (2.8 chip too?) and the 1.8 gets the APR 300hp kit. Both run about the same price in total $4-5k. Which one would be the winner?
Total price is obviously higher on the 2.8. But I am talking about after initial sale of the cars and each owner has $5k to burn.
