I have a chipped 1.8T, so in my opinion, a quality synthetic oil is a necessity. Now for a 2.8 V6, it's not totally necessary unless you operate under "extreme" conditions (i.e., lots of stop-and-go driving, towing, hot temperatures, etc.) So for your situation, I'd say stick with the regular dino juice and the normal service intervals.<br> Andy
