Got a ticket Friday. Heavy traffic, was in the left lane with cars in front and behind me. I was in the left lane out of 5, police car on the RIGHT berm. Can he really clock me with a radar, or he just picked my silver A4 out of the crowd?
Do I have a defense strategy?
This is my first ticket in 10 years, may be it's time, but still...
1998.5A4QT

I'm not sure why he'd be running radar in heavy traffic to begin with. If you're talking bumper to bumper 20mph, then I'm not sure I understand. Give me some more details. I doubt I'll be able to help you get out of it, just maybe help you understand what happened and possibly how to take care of the ticket without having it on your record. Who knows, but I need more info. concerning the environment in which you were issued the tick and what type of conversation transpired between the 2 of you.

Chris, thanks for your response.
It was around 4 PM, rush hour on Friday. He marked "heavy" in traffic column of the ticket. And it was a radar, that's what it says on the ticket. It shows the calibration @ 1410, I assume 2:10 PM? There was almost no conversation, me asking for a warning since I've had no tickets before, and him saying "no".
Cars were about 1.5 car lengths between each other, max 30 feet. He was on the right berm at a very gradual turn on the highway, 150 to 250 ft in front of me, he started rolling as soon as I noticed him and then got on my tail and the rest is history... He clocked me at the turn, not when following.
What do you think?
