Has anyone tried to install an Alpine CHM-S611 six disc changer into their 1997 A4 with Bose Delta stereo? This reputable car audio dealer tells me it is the same as the Audi unit. Any comments or experience with this unit would be greatly appreciated.

would like to hear of someone trying it, even if it confirms that it won't work. everyone i've asked says nothing but the one with the audi label works. seems implausible that Alpine would manufacture a totally different interface just for audi - they currently support 3 different connections for changers already - you'd think one would work...

The audio dealer did some leg work and phone calling and determined that no unit (other than the dealer supplied Alpine) or adaptor will work with our Bose stereo. It was a shot in the dark that would have only cost us ~$350 to get into a changer. Well Clair, here I come...
