Is anyone planning on installing an AutoPC (the Microsoft Windows CE based car computer) in their A4?
Beyond the hands free GPS component, I'm still not sure if the benefits outway the cost.
What do you think?

The description for the Delorme Earthmate GPS system says that it works with Macs that have Street Atlas USA 4.0. The Earthmate comes with Street Atlas 6.0 for Windows, so you have to buy the Mac version separately. Price is about $140 for the GPS receiver and Street Atlas 6.0.
For a description, check out MacMall at the link below and do a search for Earthmate. I have bought things mail order from MacMall, and found that they provide good service, including refunds when things aren't right.
http://www.cc-inc.com/homepage/

MacMall

The Delorme street atlas 4.0 for the Mac is a second (or even third) rate port from the PC version. I was extremely disappointed with it. There is no door to door mapping, the GPS receiver could not find its own rectum with a map (and this was in the plains states-no obstructions whatsoever), and it is extremely slow (on a 250mhz PPC G3 PB). If you want to get a more useful toy get the Garmin GPS III with built in mapping.
Chris
