OK, the archive is off-line, so I need to ask a question here.
Is it true that the side markers can be popped off with a credit card?? I've broken 2 cards trying this.
If it is possible, is there a particular side of the marker that needs to be popped first. It seems that the side facing the front of the car is the side to pry first, but it just isn't working.
Anyone try this with success??
Thanks in advance

The front is the side with the "clip". Basically, you're just trying to push a tab in far enough that the front of the side-marker will pop out. Once the front is out, the back will come out no problem. I too used a credit card and ended up snapping a half-inch piece off the end. I then used a different card (I think it was a laminated ID from work) that was less brittle. Worked for me. Cover the card up with an old cotton T-shirt so you don't scratch your paint.
Others have used very small flat-head screwdrivers, but I'd personally use this as a last resort.
Andy Hedin

I slid the credit card under the sidemarker to protect the paint from my screwdriver. Try popping it out with a tool while protecting the paint with the plastic.
That's how I did it, anyway.

Robbie
'991.8Tqms

Here is text right off of my web page:
The side markers are even easier to install. To remove the side markers, slide a credit card under the side marker on the edge furthest toward the front of the car. As you slide the credit card under, it will depress a tab which will allow the marker to be lifted out. As you push the credit card inward to depress the tab, also use the credit card to pull the marker away from the body. Once the marker is free, simply pull the bulb out and replace the amber lens with the clear lens. Pop it back in and your done.

To check the page itself, which contains more info. on clear markers, follow the link...

Clear Marker info. on Northeast A4 Group site

I bought the marilyn 2 package from Autobahn and I was pleased with its speedy arrival. As described in the posts below, the sides are easy to get out if you attack them from the front side (towards the wheels). My questions is, do I need yellow bulbs for the corners before I install them and if so, where can I get them. Thanks for your help.
Cheers,
Andrew

I just left in the white bulbs with my clear corners. The clear corners still look yellowish even with the white bulbs so I dont think that any police would even know the difference.
I bought the tinted side markers and left the clear bulbs. Most cars out there don't even have side turn markers. People have no problem seeing the clear bulbs flashing.

The stock corner-markers on my '97 A4 had yellow bulbs in there from the factory. Not sure if that has changed with '98 or '99 models. My side-markers had clear bulbs stock but my in-pro smoked side-markers included two yellow bulbs. Hope this helps clear up the confusion. Some people seem to be referring to the corner-markers as side-markers which causes confusion.
Andy Hedin

At least on my 98, and others I've heard about. If you're talking about the corner markers next to the headlights, and not the side markers which are just in front of the doors, then all you need to do is replace the glass (or plastic, I guess), without changing a bulb. The corners will still flash yellow, and will still show up yellow when you have you lights on.
Miles

I got complete lens kit: clear front corners, smoke side markers& taillights. There are yellow bulbs in the OE corners, & yellow bulbs come with the side markers.

Sorry for the confusion....I have clear corners and clear markers and I left the stock clear markers in with the clear marker and changed the stock yellow corner bulbs to white bulbs with the clear corners. The reason I changed the yellow bulbs in the corners is because you can still see the yellow bulbs even when it is not flashing.
