My malfunction indicator light (MIL -- the picture of an engine with a bolt) lit up late this afternoon and refuses to go out. It is not blinking, but it glows steadily. Dealer says about fifty such complaints today. It is about 20 degrees F out, and snow had begun to fall. I also plugged in my cell phone recharger at about the same time I noticed the MIL and the radio conked out fleetingly, flashing SAFE. Needless to say, the dealer didn't have the code in their computer, and I had to drive in silence for a couple hours. Dealer claims the MIL is misbehaving, and that I can wait until the upcoming 30K service. Anyone know what is going on? 98.5 1.8TQMS.
