I went to about 6 different dealerships in the Pittsburgh area. None of them wanted to budge off of MSRP for the GLX. One dealership wanted $200 over MSRP and told me "we are not going to whore out our cars." I promptly got up and left at that point. I believe that due to th ehigh demand for the GL's and GLS's thet most are not willing to budge much. I ended up ordering a 2000 A4 a few weeks ago when I got a new job and my financial situation improved a bit. I ended up ordering it from my local dealer and they gave me the best price (were also going to give me the best price on a VW also). They always ask for $1500 over invoice on all their cars, Audi or VW, and they do not negotiate. The dealer is Star Motor in Clarksburg, WV if you are around this area. Brad Willis 07-04-1999, 10:32 AM Well, as both an Officer of a major Wall Street firm for over 10 years, and a Volkswagen AG shareholder, I can tell you that that the stock hasn't been doing much lately. The ADRs (American Depositary Receipts) are around $13 USD per ADR (Nasdaq symbol: VLKAY). I think that I bought them around $16 or so, so I'm still underwater. It seems that weakness in some areas (especially Latin America), is offsetting many of the good things that are happening in the U.S. PM 07-04-1999, 12:01 PM |
