I called up my dealer and told him that I wanted to change my order from a 99.5 to a '00(I added Xenon and Sideguard). He told me that I should show up at their lot in Septemeber and pick out the car that I wanted(We would then negotiate a new price, I got 4.3% over invoice on the 99.5). I told him that I wanted to special order a car and he said that they couldn't do that on the '00. I stated that AoA said that it was possible and that he better talk to his manager. He came back a few minutes later and said it was no problem and that he would take care of it and he promptly hung up. My problem is that when I show up to pick up my car in November he's going to pull some BS that we need to renegotate a new price. He told me that they couldn't do anything in writting because they don't have a price from AoA yet. He also told me that he would stop working there in a month. What can I do to get something in writting? Is this possible?

P.S. I feel a bit uncomfortable because I orginally order my 99.5 at the end of May and as of last weekend he never gave me a order status prinout.

If the salesperson won't be working there in a month, ask his superiors why. You're entitled to a straight answer, I think, being a good customer and having dealt with this apparently responsible gentleman in matters of business over the past few months.
If you want Xenon and SideGuard, just tell them that you have heard that these new options will be available on the year 2000 model and that since you value both of these items from a safety standpoint, you would prefer they move your order to a 2000 car. Further, because you have this FAX from Audi of America that clearly states that prices will be similar (Audi loves the word similar as related to pricing, just look at the dealer statements on the S4, so it should be easy to get a FAX saying something to this effect) for that year you see no reason to waste time for both parties in the renegotiation of price, especially given that acceptable pricing is unlikely to have changed for either the customer or the dealer entity during the time between the first negotiation and today.
Then ask your new salesperson if he would kindly move your order, give you his business card, and give you the build information associated with your new car via email or facsimile as soon as it becomes available. And then thank him. You'll be his new best customer.
Just how I'd deal with it.
Cameron

Nothing in writing....hmmmmmm......
First, negotiate a set price above invoice. For example $750 above invoice price. Thus, no matter what the price change is, they know what they are making and what you have to pay. Also, get this in writing from them along with a copy of the car specs.
Why are you so hung up on this salesperson? Sounds like a weasel - especially if he is gone in a month. Call the main number and ask to talk to the Audi sales manager. Someone last week suggested that when you finally get to an Audi salesperson, make sure they are a Certified Brand Specialist (only sell Audi's and not Hyundia's on the side). Finalize the deal with the sales manager. It will be up to him/her to give the salesperson their cut.
Finally, call another dealer! There are TONS of decent AUDI salespeople out there. Worst case, you pay an extra $100 to $200 for the car. Given no hassle and stress for 6 months, it will be the cheapest money you can ever pay!
Good luck!

I also ordered a '00 at the end of May and have no factory conformation yet.
