I have a deposit on:

Nogaro Blue pearl effect / Onyx leather - Blue Alcantara interior

and

Light Silver metallic / Onyx leather

The Blue is in port and the Silver delivery around November. My first choice is Silver but the delivery date is far off. I like the blue if it looks as deep as some of the pictures and the interior is not too gaudy looking. So the question is, who has seen the blue, and how does that color combo look?

The Silver is simplicity of maintenance and the Blue is original and racy.

What would you do?

-Pete

Pete, I'd wait and go with your first choice- the silver. You need to think of this as an investment in a car that you're going to keep for 5-7-10 years, so get what you really want. 1-2 months really isn't long in the grand scheme of things. Plus, being from the N.E., you need to think about the weather and road conditions, Silver is a low maintenance color, you are going to have to be washing the blue constantly to keep it looking clean. Just my two cents.

...is exclusive to the S4, it would be my choice. The exclusive colors are what differentiate the S4 from the now lowly (just kidding!) A4. Seriously though, there are silver A4's all over the place. Every time I turn a corner there's a silver one. Why not go with something you won't see 10 times in the same day on someone elses car? The S4 is a very special and rare car and deserves to be distinguished, IMHO. However, if you are really in love with silver, then you better get that and be happy with it. Have you thought about Imola Yelllow? Now that's a HOT color! :-)

Nagaro blue would be my choice (especially after having a silver A4)

There's a neat blue for the 328Ci that's exclusive to that coupe too. I'm more sure about the color I want then the car! (sigh)

My main goal next time is to have a color that really accentuates the car. Different colors for different cars. Also, in the case of such cars as the M3 (took three tries to get that one right!) and S4, the color absolutely must be exclusive to that model.

With the S4, Imola Yellow is my favorite, but the Nogaro is also stunning. I wouldn't turn down the Nogaro.

For the M3, I'm not sure what they are going to offer, but until I see new colors, I'll stick with my all time favorite M3 color; Estoril Blue.

I think I want Aviator Grey for my TT, but there's still alot of confusion over just what it looks like. There's also a Green that looks very good. I am sure of the interior. Tan, baseball Glove stitched leather.

This picture (huge file; sorry!)is what I believe to be Aviator, but that is not the opinion of others at the TT board, who think it is much lighter. The reason I believe this is that it closely or exactly resembles the color of the original show car, which is what I want. I remember hearing "aviator grey" very early on, and it seems as though it was associated with the original show car, although it may have beent he coupe. Anyway, this is the color and interior I want! :-)

I have a silver/onyx coming, and although several other colors promise to be quite stunning, I favor the silver not only due to great looks but also heritage.

Great sport/racing Audis have been silver--from the touring car championship racers all the way back to the old Auto Unions (remember the Streamliner?). True, this is just a street car, but it's also the roadgoing badge-bearer for the racing legacy, no? The Avus wheels also add to the heritage factor.

I always love the radical colors on cars, but so do the police. I also can bear witness to the fact that one truly can get sick of stuff like that very quickly after driving it around day in and day out for a year or less.

Incidentally, I find it strange that there is no white (or even pearl white) S4. A white S4 would be killer with the black/blue interior.

Here we go...........

-I'm paid a lot NOT to work (I have the same disposable income that I had when I worked 50 hrs/wk and grossed six figures)!

-I'm guaranteed that income (indexed with inflation) for the next 25 years!

I still see a couple patients/week .......they call me DR .......(grins)

-I'm a writer; have a psych column on AOL

-I own an auto appraisal insurance business

-I live in a 2600 sq. ft. home (all to myself!) in an affluent neighborhood, in the Austin hill country, on a green belt, near a lake

-I have a maid who drives a Cadillac

-I spend a lot of time driving cool cars...Audis, BMWs, Porsches, etc. just for fun. I read four or five auto mags/month.

-I'm getting a new car in July of 2000, though my 98 Wett 2.8 A4 still looks new. I can't decide on a tuned up 350+ hp S4, or the MY 2001 230 hp BMW 3er coupe, or a 350 hp M3 (raw power and technological marvel vs beauty and prestige vs really stretch my budget!)

-Though I'm still single, I have lots of friends and I date a lot.

-I can indulge myself in hobbies.......I think I'll get into close up (sleight of hand) magic again and I'm going to buy a telescope and get back into Astronomy again (we have really dark skies out here)

Whaddya think? A livable lifestyle?

...that's a good thing! :-) If you need any help spending $$$, let me know! I'm very, very, good at it.

I didn't know you had a psych column on AOL. I may have to go check that out.

I would love to have a maid! Actually, I live in a tiny apartment, but I'm happy here. I still have thought about hiring someone to come in and clean though.

Gotta go do something constructive!
