OK I know the ski rack topic has been beaten to death but I've got one last question.<p>I had a set of Thule racks before they were ripped straight off the roof of my car. I still have all the Thule mounting adapters.<p>I want to buy the factory rack given the raves in the FAQ and archives. I saw how Rich adapted his Thule hardware to the factory rack. But given that I'm a blithering idiot with power tools, I was thinking about just getting the factory ski attachments.<p>so the question - are the factory attachments functionally different that the Thule attachments I already have, other than they fit just a little better? I'm trying to rationalize it so that if I buy them I won't open the box and kick myself when I see identical stuff that I already have.
