Hi everyone,
FYI, you might want to read the first part of this post http://www.a4.org/bbs/a4/9935/messages/7.shtml to get an idea of what i'm talking about. =)
Anyways, I drove the car to the city today, and watched an excellent movie with my girlfriend - it's called "Run Lola Run," a German movie with english subtitles, very very very excellent movie. It's showing at Embarcadero 1 if anyone in the city has no plans for tommorow, or for those folks on the peninsula, there's 4-hours of parking validation if you go to the theater. But I digress. =)
Anyways, earlier in the day i pulled all the b.s. engine covers and valve covers off to make sure everything was there, which it was. I didn't see anything wrong. As i was pulling into a parking space this afternoon in the parking lot, i noticed that the car is now occasionaly stubling at idle, so i decided to open the hood up and take a peek. Sure enough, the #6 spark plug was occasionally making a slight electric arc on the heads, which means either a bad wire, bad plug, or both. My brother confirmed it later - every time i rev the car up there are 2 to 3 little arcs made by the plug around the #6 plug opening. Hopefully, changing both the wire and the plug should fix the problem (occasional misfiring). I'll show the dealer monday morning, hopefully they can get it done quickly (i have to be in Los Angeles by Tuesday 11AM!!!).
On another note, I recently dumped in Mobil 1 5-30 synthetic in my car, and the car feels a little peppier. Call me crazy, but I think the car revs a little faster then when i was running Mobil 1 15-50. Just a little thought . . .i was going to run 0-30 but i couldn't manage to find any.
I'll keep everyone updated, but a big thanks to those who responded!
Thanks again,
Edmund Louie
98 A4Q 30V
PS - Jim, they let me keep my K&N air filter...i think that "stop!!!" sticker that comes with it helps to ward them away =)

My A4 Page
