I'm thinking about upgrading to the E-code Bosch headlamps/PIAA bulbs, but over $500 for headlights and bulbs is a bit much.<p>Does anyone know what is the max wattage the plastic oem headlights can take without meltdown?? I'm wary of this because I my friend mounted aftermarket bulbs in his Integra and he now has circular blobs in his front lenses where the extreme heat caused meltdown.<p>Chris

I tried 80 low and 100 high and they only lasted about a week. They were PIAA, I think that the plastic and dispercment pattern combo just can not handle higher watts. Last year some one posted 70 was max and that seems like it's not worth the effort.
