This thing is driving me up the wall ! Something, which I think is that plastic seatbelt height adjuster, is rattling like mad when going over bumps at low (<30mph) speeds. It is either that or the window glass or the doors which are rattling on the driver's side. Does anyone have a similar problem or better yet - a solution ?
Thanks,
Dmitry
98 1.8TQMS

My '98 had a very annoying creaking-type rattle which was coming from somewhere at the driver's side B-pillar. After many months of wondering what the cause was I found out that opening the rear window got rid of the rattle - that clued me in. In my case the black metal cover on the outside of the b-pillar was rubbing against some rubber at the top. A small amount of silicone spray where the cover meets the rubber has done the trick. Good luck.
Tom
1.8TQMS Silver/Ecru

I also have the exact same problem which seems more prevalent in cold weather. After numerous visits to the dealer (Prey Audi) The regional tech.rep. stated that "I've got good hearing". he also requested that I wait and have replacement of seat belt mechanism during 5,000 mile check-up. Thats tomorrow, so I'll advise as to how it was repaired "or not" on Wednesday.

Good luck,

Peter Brennan
1.8tQMS Avant
