I am seriously considering an A4 Avant wagon. What changes will there be to the 99.5, and when will that model become available? If I order a new car today, will it be a 99.5 by default, or a plain old 99? I saw postings regarding the sport suspension, I am planning on the 2.8 and the quattro--anyone have any other suggestions?

>What changes will there be to the 99.5<br>I'd suggest reading the info on the VWVortex web site. Here's the URL: http://www.vwvortex.com<br>Follow the link to the "Features" area, then click on the "Updated A4" link. All the info you want plus pictures are there.<p>>If I order a new car today, will it be a 99.5 by default, or a plain old 99?<br>All cars ORDERES now will be 99.5. The only cars on lots right now are 99 models. (Jim H. correct me if I'm wrong) I believe the early ordered 99.5's are being built right now.<p>Andy Hedin<br>'97 A4 1.8Tqms, Wett 1.0 Bar Chip, ABT Filter, Euro Headlights with<br>PIAA SuperWhite's, A!AvantGarde Grill, Smoked Side-Markers,<br>Clear Corner-Markers, Tint<br>

There is very little difference b/w a '98/'99 2.8 Avant and a '99.5 model. It is my understanding that there is a $1200 rebate to the dealer for sales of '98s which are still relatively easy to come by. The dealership here in Indianapolis still has two. One is a 5speed quattro with leather sport seats and all the other goodies. IMO it is quite desirable. I know they are eager to sell it. If I were looking for a 2.8Avant and it was my $$, I'd buy it and save big over a barely recognizeable difference in the '99.5.
