I checked the archives. Did not have any luck there.
I believe both headlight and windshield washers are heated. It is 4 degrees outside and nothing. They did not work when it was about 15 either. They do work when it goes above freezing. Maybe the dealer put some really dilluted fluid in. I'll check when I get home. My understanding is that they are always on. I first noticed after I was driving around for about 1/2 hour then tried to spray the windshield. I did not notice anything spraying at the headlights also. Yes I did hold down the washer for several seconds.
Has anyone had this problem. Any ideas before taking it in. Fortunately I am going in for the remote range fix in about a week or so.
98.0 Avant QT dirty windshield

headlite washers didn't work on mine. Had car in for 7500 mile service on 12/30; they replaced "bad washer jet". haven't retried due to snow/ice storm in Pittsburgh (bumper coated with solid ice; is 0 - 15 Deg out, car is stored outside). Windshield and rear window washers (have an Avant) work fine with standard store-bought fluid (dealer is an hour away; too far to justify saving a buck on fluid).
Was your headlight on ? The headlight washer works
only when the headlights are on !!

It's probally the dealer trying to save some $$ as I had same problem. Actually still do until I purge the diluted fluid. For whatever reason the fluid at service was not the alcohol mix as you don't even sniff the stuff. Definite clue.
I got the windshield wiper blues..........
till I see another gas station with juice and squeegeeeeessssss!!!!
2.8Qspt-tip

I had this problem a couple days ago.
I should have known better, but I still had a resevoir full of a fluid I was testing out. I was using Rain-X brand washer fluid, thinking it may be helpful in cleaning.
It's been below 0 degrees F here and my windshield washer would not work, although the resevoir was full and didn't seem icy. Apparently, down below at the bottom, it must have been.
We thawed the car out, drained the lame fluid and then filled it back up with the alcohol-based washer fluid. Now, even at below 0 temps, it works perfectly fine.
I would suggest putting in better fluid to start, and if that doesn't solve it then the dealer may have to check for a clogged line.
Good luck.
-Cathleen
