So, there I am, second gear, about to go through an intersection and I have a green light. I'm accelerating and going about 25 mph when all I see is my air bag slowly coming out at me...I hear a VERY LOUD bang and reaction tells me to hit the brakes...too late. This STUPID BITCH just ran a red light and I T-boned her POS delta something with my beautiful A4. Seconds later as I was inhaling the gas from the air bag, this deranged lady approches my car in hysterics asking if I'm OK? I said and quote "yes, it's an audi, of course I'm ok." then she goes on to rant how it's all her fault. NO **** lady, I had a green light. Look for pics tomorrow. I'm going to cry when I see it. But I do have some questions. I leased the car, so do I still make the monthly payments? What should I becareful of if they don't total the car? (depreciation, lease company screwing me at turn in time) I don't know - this is my first lease. well, i have pics and more tomorrow.
ps the car had 4500 miles on it
21stcdb
98.5 QM with "new" aerodynamics!
Would have been nice to know where you live.
The car will be fixed or declared a total loss. Your insurance cie will decide.
What you need to do:
1. continue making you car payment
-until the matter is settled by the insurance cie you are responsible for the car and the payments.
2. continue making you insurance payments.
- until the matter is settled any car you drive is insured by your insurance policy (in Quebec at least) so your policy is still protecting you... therefore you continue to pay.
3. Wait for the adjuster to call (give him/her no more than 3 days)
4. did you modify the car? FIND THE BILLS!!!
- if you did something major (if it's major to you after an accident it's major to the insurance cie before the accident occured) you should have notified your broker, agent... somebody. If you didn't that's an accident, you didn't know... don't worry about it make a copy of the bills of your mods and send it to the insurance adjuster.
5. wait for it to gate settled.
N.B.: if it is a total loss, remember to get back the portion of your cash down that hasn't been used, + your security deposit + your last month payment on the lease BEFORE you give them the check.

Didn't you get gap insurance as part of your lease?
