Some immature little f*** left a 3 foot scratch along the right fender of my 4-day old A4. It's cactus green, so the damage shows pretty clearly. :(
Does anybody have any idea how much this will run me to get fixed? I'm pretty sure it's too deep for a do-it-yourself job from a non-expert (like me).
Is it worth fixing, or should I just try to hide it and protect it the best I can?
This has NOT been my day ...
Dan
My laser red A4 2.8 is three weeks old with only a small rock chip, but now you've got me worried about mine too. Don't you just hate people who don't respect the property of others. That's one of the major problems with the world today. Why else would we need alarms and locks on everything we own these days.

I know it's a pain, but get it fixed. It was only a couple hundred dollars ($200 to $300?) to paint my hood, so probably significantly less to fix the paint on your fender. Just get it done, otherwise it will hound you until you do.
Well, at least they didn't steal your side turn signal lights, like they did to mine the other day!

Fix it right away...the scratch will drive you crazy.
I know...I had my 1.8t less then a day and under 100 miles and some jerk rammed it with a shopping cart. Didn't even get to wash it once with no damage. I'm telling you it was growing larger each day (in my minds eye anyway) :-). I finally had Dent Wizard work on it today. They couldn't get it perfect so they didn't charge me - but it is much, much better - and I feel much, much better.
Mitch 99.5 1.8tqmsa

If it isn't there is a good possibility it can be sanded out. . . How deep is it, and does the cactus green have a clearcoat? If it does, nevermind. :)

Unfortunately we live in a society that has little respect for life or material items - Life in the 90's, especially in large urban areas like NYC, where I've lived for over 50 years, as well as 5 years in Boston while in school.
My advice is to get it done quickly, before the summer sun starts the oxidation process, and it'll make you feel better. Figure about $250 -$400, depending on several factors.
Your only consolation should be that lightning generally doesn't happen twice.
All the Best,
Rick
