12 days ago I tried to put order for Brullen cat-back exhaust system.(not from LLTek). They said they have one available for 1.8TQ and when I gave them my VIN number, they told me that my car is a late 98 production and i have to wait for 3 weeks. The thing is they don`t really have the exhaust system manufactured, they said they are working on it. I am not sure though if they can come up it in the given time. Do you think I am waiting for nothing, although, the price is really good. How much a scorpion exhaust would cost. Any other alternatives? I am really confused of the situation.
is the exhaust system for late 98s diferent than the earlier models. This is the story my performance shop tells me. I am waiting for your comments

The A4 has a 4-link suspension. This is radically different from a MacPhearson strut as the strut tower only sees compressive force from the spring/shock. The two pairs of control arms (upper and lower)see the lateral forces/displacements which would benefit from a cross tower brace.
Connecting the strut towers is completely useless, unless the tower was so weak that normal forces transmitted throught the spring/shock would cause displacement.
Now a MacPhearson assembly is totally different. There are no upper control arms so ther is a moment generated by lateral forces causing a net lateral force at the tower. It is slight due to the long lever arm posed by the strut assembly (pivot point is usually compound at the bearing carrier)
Keith J

Steve,
Thanks for the info...I did spring for the sport steering wheel...I don't think I could live with the look of the stock one knowing full well that the cooler one really existed!!
God I love this car, yesterday I stopped by the dealer and had them fill my Due Bill for my CD Changer it sure makes the drive (35 miles each way) to work more enjoyable. They had to hack up my trunk liner to put it in...but they said they will replace it free of charge with one that is tailored to the new placement of the CD Changer.
Do you have any recommendations for suspension components...I plan on getting some new rims...maybe the Ronal R-28's and I would like to reduce the wheel well gap a tad...maybe a 1.75 inch drop..maybe 2.00 I'm not sure how dramatic that would be far as speed bumps and the like are concerned??? I don't want a car that scrapes the undercarriage every time I go over a speed bump...but I don't want that 4x4 look either.
